J. Douglas Wallace grew up in Winter Park, Florida and graduated from Winter Park High School in 1965. He continued his education at the University of North Carolina, acquiring a BA in English Literature in 1969. He then entered the Naval Flight School in June of 1969, completing the Naval Jet Training program and receiving his “wings” in October of 1970. Mr. Wallace flew A-4 Skyhawks and F-4 Phantoms and left the services as a Commander serving eight years on active duty and an additional 7 years in the Naval Reserves. He subsequently received a Master’s Degree in human Resources from the University of Oklahoma in 1975 and served as an Assistant Professor for three years, teaching leadership, management and organizational behavior. He received an MBA from Rollins College in 1985.
Serving as a roofing contractor for 15 years before becoming a professional roofing consultant over 25 years ago, Mr. Wallace has personally inspected over 40,000 roofs from Hawaii to Morocco. He has worked as a consultant with Starwood/Vistanna Timeshare Properties for 25 years developing managing and budgeting techniques that allow for efficient repair and replacement of roofing systems. Working with companies such as Marriott, Blue Green and Holiday Inn, Mr. Wallace additionally develops replacement specifications for condominium associations and apartment complexes to insure compliance manufacturer installation guidelines and local building ordinances.
Mr. Wallace has given numerous presentations to many organizations relating to all facets of roofing materials and installation procedures. He has developed a loyal clientele in both the legal community and the insurance industry. As an expert witness, he is recognized for his ability to accurately and unambiguously explain complex roofing issues. With over 40 years in the roofing industry he has acquired both knowledge and experience critical in the analyzation of roofing problems.
